Xceedium XMON-100 network monitor with access over IP

Xceedium Network Monitor XMON

Description:
Xceedium’s xMON is implemented as a secure, agentless application monitor running on a host machine. Our solution monitors network hardware, servers and applications, providing a mechanism for automated recovery in the event of system failures, as well as comprehensive event and status reporting.

xMON can be configured to gather CPU usage, memory availability, the number of running processes and disk space usage, graphically displaying statistics for performance and trend analysis on a real time Web dashboard with a global view of all servers configured in the system. The dashboard can be used to view current system information, and configure administration and alerting.

xMON performance metrics can be used as a network resource planning tool, giving administrators insight into potential hardware replacement or upgrade needs. The core functionality of xMON is controlled and configured through the dashboard, which allows administrators to customize the monitoring of servers and applications. With this administrators have full control over deployment, execution, performance thresholds, as well as other settings or processes critical to maintaining 24x7 availability.

Should any monitored system or component drop below a user-defined threshold, xMON issues alerts to the relevant administrators for that system. It can also automatically generate a management report, alert different people based on the severity of the problem, or automatically execute recovery actions.

Patent-Pending Technology
Xceedium’s xMON is a comprehensive, easy to use and affordable appliance solution for application, server and network monitoring and recovery. It features an agentless, centralized monitoring architecture that can monitor and recover unlimited number of servers without the need to install software agents on production systems. xMON also has the capability of collecting data through the SNMP protocol. xMON monitors key aspects of server and Web infrastructure performance vital to keeping Web sites and critical applications available and functioning. xMON enables monitoring of system status and verification of the availability of Web pages, Web applications, Web servers and database applications. It also monitors the status of supporting server and network services—sending alerts when problems are detected.

In the event a server goes down, xMON offers the options of human intervention, intervention through custom error recovery scripts, or automatic intervention through xMON’s Recovery Mode.

Affordable Monitoring
System administrators in all organizations are challenged by increasingly complex network and server environments. The availability of mission-critical applications has direct impact on company performance. Downtime is extremely costly, creating unhappy customers and lost business, as well as lower employee productivity and decreased security. At the same time, IT budgets are shrinking and IT professionals need cost-effective monitoring solutions with quick implementation and high ease of use. xMON solves all these problems.

There are few affordable systems specifically designed for application monitoring and recovery. Most monitoring solutions are focused on monitoring the network (e.g. routers, switches, hubs). The few solutions with robust application monitoring capability are designed primarily for the enterprise, and are too expensive, too complex and too time consuming for all but the largest application environments. As a result, system administrators are forced to choose between complex, hard-to-use and costly enterprise solutions, or cheaper tools that can’t do the job.

Features:

  • Proactively Monitors Key Aspects of Server, Application and Network Performance
xMON monitors system availability, CPU loads, physical and virtual memory, disk space, and critical process execution, vital to keeping critical applications available and functioning.

  • Supports a Wide Variety of Operating Environments and Applications
xMON monitors a variety of common operating systems, environments and network hardware, as well as Web, and database applications and servers.

  • Agentless Solution is Easy to Implement and Maintain
xMON installation includes network and environment auto-discovery, and the monitoring logic for most leading industry applications and operating systems is built-in.

  • Higher Level of Security for Monitoring and Recovery Processes
Using SSH1 or SSH2 protocols, 168-bit encryption, encrypted login and private key authentication, xMON was designed with security in mind by our CISSP-certified engineers and architects.

  • Advanced Real-Time Alerting Features
xMON can selectively notify the relevantadministrator for any monitored system if performance or operational metrics fall below user-specified acceptable ranges, and supports individual communication preferences.

  • Automatic Recovery
xMON executes automatic recovery of applications, web and database applications, servers, and processes, including rebooting locked systems via remote power units, just as an administrator would do.

  • Sophisticated Real Time Reporting
xMON provides administrators a global view of all servers configured in the system and their real time status. It can graphically display statistics for performance and trend analysis, and includes a real time dashboard of important server information and alert displays.
